Apple Music subscribers can now stream over 90 million ad-free tracks directly on their LG TV running webOS 4.0 or higher.
Over a year after Apple Music made its TV debut on Samsung’s Tizen OS, the music streaming service is now available on LG smart TVs. Simply head to the LG Content Store on any TV running webOS 4.0 or higher. The operating system launched in 2018, so should be on most modern TVs. It’s great to see Apple developing their services for more operating systems. This would have been unusual a few short years ago, who’d tie users down to the Apple TV.
Subscribers can sign-in to their account and will see a familiar interface with all of their existing music library. New users can sign-up for a free three-month trial or subscribe for $4.99 per month for a Student plan, $9.99 per month for an Individual plan or $14.99 per month for a Family plan. Note, Apple Music’s upcoming $4.99 Voice plan is not supported on the TV.
Apple Music gives TV users access to over 90 million ad-free songs, 30,000 curated and personalised playlists, live artist-hosted radio, music videos in 4K, and time-synced lyrics. Mobile users also get access to offline support, and spatial audio plus lossless audio on compatible devices.
