Spotify is building out Reserved with setlists, personalised share cards and a new in-app hub, creating more ways for dedicated fans to connect with artists before and after shows.

Spotify launched Reserved earlier this year as a way to give some of an artist’s most dedicated fans a better chance of securing concert tickets. Now, the feature is gaining personalised share cards, tour setlists and a new in-app destination, taking Reserved beyond ticket access and further into the live music experience.

The latest updates are rolling out now, with setlists becoming available for participating artist tours as their show dates begin.

What’s new with Spotify Reserved?

Reserved is currently available to eligible Spotify Premium subscribers aged 18 and over in the US and Canada. Spotify uses signals including streams, saves and shares to identify highly engaged fans, who can then receive a dedicated window to purchase up to two tickets before general sale.

Now, Spotify is adding three features to the experience: personalised share cards, pre- and post-show setlist playlists, and a new in-app destination that brings Reserved content together.

Personalised share cards

Fans selected for a Reserved offer will receive a personalised share card featuring their name, the artist and show details. A second card becomes available after they secure their tickets.

The cards are designed to be shared across social media or in group chats, giving fans an easy way to celebrate getting access and build excitement around the show.

For artists, that creates another small but useful piece of fan-led promotion. A ticket announcement can now become a piece of social content that puts the artist and upcoming show directly in front of a fan’s friends and followers.

Spotify adds tour setlists

Once a fan purchases Reserved tickets, they’ll also unlock a dedicated tour setlist playlist on their event page.

Spotify says these playlists are sourced from setlist.fm and will initially reflect songs the artist has been performing on the current tour. After each show, the playlist can update to include tour debuts and surprise songs, eventually reflecting the exact tracks performed that night.

That gives fans something to explore before the concert and something to return to afterwards, creating an easy way for fans to stay engaged with the artist’s music beyond the show itself.

A new home for Reserved

Spotify is also introducing a central in-app destination for Reserved content.

Available through Home and Your Library, the new destination brings together share cards, pre- and post-show setlists, event details, venue information and past performances.

Spotify is bringing streaming and live music closer together

The expansion fits into a wider push from Spotify to connect music discovery with live events.

Spotify already offers features including its Live Events hub and Concerts Near You playlist, while its Reserved system uses listening activity to identify fans who are particularly engaged with an artist. Spotify says its broader concert discovery work has driven more than $1.5 billion in ticket sales for artists.

The direction is interesting for independent artists and labels. Streaming platforms are increasingly becoming places where fans don’t just discover music, but also find shows, buy tickets and stay connected with artists around live experiences.

With Reserved, Spotify is making the live experience something fans can return to before and after the gig itself.

What does Spotify Reserved mean for artists?

Reserved is currently limited to selected artists and tours, so simply having music on Spotify doesn’t guarantee access to the feature.

Still, its approach highlights the value of building genuine, engaged audiences rather than focusing solely on streams. Spotify says Reserved considers signals such as streams, saves and shares when identifying dedicated fans, although it deliberately keeps its exact criteria private.

For artists planning a tour, it’s another reason to make sure your Spotify presence is up to date. Adding tour dates to Spotify can put upcoming shows directly alongside your music, helping fans move from listening to discovering where they can see you live.

And, of course, none of that starts without the music. Distributing your releases to Spotify and other major platforms gives fans more opportunities to discover, save and share your music as you build towards your next show.

With RouteNote, you can distribute music to Spotify and other streaming platforms worldwide for free, helping you grow your audience and build the foundations for your next live release, tour or fan connection.
