Spotify continues to expand its listening experience

Alongside its financial results, Spotify highlighted a number of new features and developments from the quarter.

Spotify’s AI-powered DJ is expanding into more markets, with French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese added to the feature, taking it to more than 75 markets.

Spotify has also introduced Talk to Spotify, allowing eligible Premium users to speak or type requests to discover music and other audio.

The platform is also continuing to explore new ways of connecting artists with their biggest fans. Its new Reserved by Spotify feature gives eligible Premium subscribers early access to selected concert tickets, with nearly 100,000 tickets already reserved since launching in the US.

AI remains another major area of development. Spotify says it is working towards a research preview that could allow fans to create remixes using songs from participating artists, using listener feedback to help improve the experience.

For independent artists, Spotify’s continued expansion means there are more potential listeners to reach, while personalised discovery and new fan-focused features could create more ways for people to discover and engage with music.
