Qobuz refreshes its audio player and adds real-time lyrics
Qobuz has overhauled its mobile listening experience with a redesigned audio player, synchronized lyrics, richer artist information, and improved music discovery features.
Qobuz has unveiled a major update to its mobile and tablet app, introducing a redesigned audio player alongside one of its most requested features: real-time synchronized lyrics.
Available now on iOS and Android, the update aims to make listening more immersive while making it easier for subscribers to discover music, explore artist information, and stay connected to the tracks they’re playing.
A fresh look for the Qobuz player
Qobuz has completely redesigned its player to deliver a more intuitive and information-rich listening experience. The updated interface adapts its visuals to match each album’s artwork, helping immerse listeners in the artist’s world while keeping playback controls close at hand. A new mini-player remains visible while users browse the app, making it easier to continue exploring without interrupting playback.
Tablet users also benefit from a new split-screen mode, allowing them to browse Qobuz while their music continues playing.
Elsewhere, the listening queue has been refreshed with swipe gestures for quickly reordering or removing tracks, while autoplay now previews the next three songs in the queue to give listeners more control over what’s coming next.
Real-time lyrics arrive
One of the headline additions is real-time synchronized lyrics, allowing listeners to follow songs line by line as they play. Qobuz has also included lyric translations, helping users better understand songs performed in different languages.
To celebrate the launch, the platform has introduced a selection of playlists designed for sing-along moments.
Synchronized lyrics have become a standard feature across many major streaming services, and their arrival on Qobuz brings another popular listening tool to the platform while staying true to its focus on deeper music appreciation.

More ways to explore artists and music
The update also expands how users can discover music without leaving the player.
A new Explore section recommends similar artists, albums, playlists and radio stations based on the currently playing track. It also highlights related genres and record labels, alongside editorial content including album reviews, artist features and interviews from Qobuz Magazine.
Qobuz says the goal is to encourage listeners to continue exploring the music they’re enjoying, rather than simply moving on to the next track.
Richer credits and artist information
Artist and recording credits have also received an overhaul.
The redesigned credits page provides quicker access to album reviews, artist biographies, digital booklets and technical audio information. Listeners can also follow artists and record labels directly from within the player, making it easier to keep up with new releases.
According to Qobuz Chief Product Officer Axel Destagnol, the redesign reflects how Qobuz subscribers actively explore the music they listen to, combining synchronized lyrics, detailed credits and editorial recommendations into a more complete listening experience.
“Qobuz subscribers actively explore the music they listen to. This new player was designed with that experience in mind: a modern design and UX featuring synchronized lyrics, detailed credits, and suggestions that leverage our editorial content to dig deeper into the artist’s world. Following the overhaul of our CarPlay app, this marks a new milestone in improving the Qobuz experience.”

Rolling out now
The new player and real-time lyrics are available now on the Qobuz mobile app for both iOS and Android, with support for additional platforms planned in future updates.
The announcement follows Qobuz’s refreshed CarPlay experience, which launched earlier this year with new playback controls, editorial recommendations, genre filters and Siri voice control.
As streaming platforms continue refining the listening experience, updates like these give artists more opportunities for fans to engage with their music beyond simply pressing play.
If you’re releasing music with RouteNote, you can distribute your tracks to Qobuz alongside Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and dozens of other streaming services, helping listeners discover your music wherever they choose to listen.
