Montreal-born composer and multi-instrumentalist Samuel Pronovost pushes creative boundaries with the release of “New Earth,” a bold and cinematic new single that blends classical music, electronic production, spoken word, and rap into a powerful artistic statement on climate change.

A cellist, a marimbist, and a rapper walking into a studio might sound like the setup to a joke, but for Samuel Pronovost it became the foundation for one of his most ambitious works to date. The result is a genre-defying composition that seamlessly combines rich orchestral textures, pulsating electronic elements, and thought-provoking vocal performances into an immersive listening experience.

At its core, “New Earth” confronts humanity’s relationship with the environment and the consequences of inaction in the face of a growing climate crisis. Through a blend of instrumental storytelling and spoken word, the track delivers a politically conscious message while remaining emotionally engaging and musically adventurous.

Centred around the striking lyric, “Take a look inside, open your eyes, let me show you what a New Earth looks like,” the song encourages reflection, responsibility, and hope. Rather than relying solely on direct commentary, Pronovost uses atmosphere and musical narrative to create a vivid sonic landscape that invites listeners to imagine a different future.

“New Earth” is a natural extension of Samuel Pronovost’s distinctive artistic vision. Blending classical composition with rap, cinematic scoring, orchestral pop, and electronic music, he has developed a sound that resists easy categorisation. His work is defined by expressive string arrangements, rich textures, and a strong sense of storytelling, often creating music that feels as visual as it is auditory.

Born in Montreal, Pronovost began studying the violin at just three years old and went on to earn three degrees from the University of Montreal. His studies covered a wide range of disciplines including classical violin performance, orchestration, electroacoustic music, sound design, and video game scoring, helping shape the multidisciplinary approach that defines his music today.

Influenced by legendary film composers such as John Williams and Hans Zimmer, Pronovost approaches composition with a cinematic mindset. Every piece is designed to evoke imagery, emotion, and narrative, drawing listeners into carefully crafted worlds where genres overlap and musical boundaries disappear.

Outside of music, Samuel’s eclectic life experiences include working as both a sommelier and mixologist, and even accidentally surfing alongside former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a fittingly unexpected anecdote for an artist whose career has never followed a conventional path.

With “New Earth,” Samuel Pronovost delivers a release that is both musically ambitious and socially relevant. Combining technical mastery with artistic purpose, the single stands as a compelling example of how contemporary composers can use music not only to entertain, but to inspire conversation and reflection.
