Spotify has updated Loud & Clear, their annual report on the economics of music streaming, highlighting ten key positive trends.

Every year, Spotify updates their microsite, Loud & Clear, which aims to increase transparency by giving easy-to-understand data, trends and growth of their royalty payments. The big takeaway? More artists are earning more money from Spotify streams than ever before, from global superstars to indie bedroom producers!

Before we jump on in, remember that Spotify is just one streaming platform and streaming is just one source of funds for musicians. Spotify’s data reflects how much they payout to rightsholders, not necessarily how much money the artist sees. To maximize your streaming royalties, distribute with RouteNote and earn 100% of your earnings across platforms with RouteNote Premium. Alternatively, choose RouteNote Free and pay nothing upfront!

You can find and compare this year’s update to the 2025 update of Loud & Clear here.
