It’s that time of the year again. Here’s your guide to YouTube Music’s 2025 Recap, what’s new, and how to check your year in music.

It’s officially Recap season. YouTube Music has launched its 2025 year-end Recap, meaning listeners can now relive their year in music. It comes just as November wraps, sticking with YouTube’s early rollout schedule. As always, it’s packed with fresh features that make looking at your yearly listening habits that bit more engaging.

What’s new for 2025?

Each year, YouTube adds a few new features to refresh the Recap experience and make it more personalized and interactive. 2025 is no different. Here’s what’s new this year:

Musical Passport

Trace where you listened to your favorite artists thanks to a new Musical Passport which shows the “XX” number of places you listened to them at.

Listening Calendar

Discover the days you listened to your top artist with a new calendar graphic which pinpoints the exact days you listened.

Ask about your listening

This year, the star of the show is undoubtedly the new AI-powered “Ask about your listening” feature. You can ask questions about your 2025 listening patterns through a chatbot-style interface. Pick from YouTube’s suggested prompts or type your own and receive a personalized, sharable graphic in return.

It utilizes YouTube’s “Ask Music” tool which starts music stations based on user prompts, and is presumably powered by Google’s Gemini AI.
