A new dubbing feature powered by AI could help artists and creators connect with fans around the world in their own language.

YouTube’s Multi-language Audio feature

YouTube has officially launched its Multi-language Audio feature for all YouTube creators. This means videos can now be dubbed into multiple languages, letting fans everywhere enjoy content in their native language.

TechCrunch says the tool is powered by Google’s Gemini AI, which helps replicate a creator’s tone and emotions to make the translations feel more natural. For creators, the tool is sure to be helpful in reaching wider audiences and breaking into new markets.

A successful test

The news follows a successful two-year pilot program which saw YouTube test the feature with a limited number of creators, such as MrBeast, Mark Rober, and Jamie Oliver. The results? Pretty impressive.

On average, around 25% of watch time on these dubbed videos came from viewers outside of the creator’s primary language. Jamie Oliver even saw views on his dubbed videos triple.

Why artists and creators should pay attention

The feature is here to help creators reach global audiences, while letting viewers watch content from their favourite YouTubers in their native language. For example, YouTube says that fans from Korea, Brazil, and India, could all watch content from a US creator in their native language.

For creators and artists, this matters. Imagine being able to post behind-the-scenes content, music videos, or interviews that fans across the world can enjoy in their own language. This opens the door to growing your global fanbase. That means more streams and views, more tickets sold, and a boost for your career.

What’s next for YouTube?

YouTube isn’t stopping at audio. The platform also revealed that it’s testing multi-language thumbnails with select creators. This means viewers may soon see video thumbnails in their preferred language, making content feel even more tailored to them.

In a world where global audiences are key to growth, YouTube’s multi-language tools are here to make global growth a whole lot easier for artists and creators.
