You may have noticed that it’s raining today and is likely to carry on doing so for the entire weekend, which strikes me as being a major pain in the arse for those of you venturing outside for fireworks.
For the moderately bright ones among you who decide to stay inside this soggy weekend, I present to you a gift (albeit a free one you could have got elsewhere); here are three tracks from Brian Eno’s new album Small Craft On A Milk Sea.

This isn’t that straight forward in the UK, as the official release date is not until the 15th of this month, however you can pre-order it by following this link, or if you’re clever enough there are ways to download it directly from Eno’s website.
Does your brain need scrubbing out after the weekend? Then you’ll be interested to note that Mancunian electronic artists Autechre have announced that they’ll be releasing a new album. Their music is a crushed up, jangling, unsettled and deeply atmospheric mix of glitchy, static sounding samples and electronic noises, sometimes over soothing synth lines and drum beats seemingly recorded over a telephone mic, sometimes blended with a brooding black wall of noise. Released and distributed through Warp on the 22nd of March, Oversteps will be Autechre’s tenth full album in a career that spans almost twenty years (their first single and EP were released in ’91 – make you feel old?).
