UMG cancels all Grammy events, while the awards will proceed with a focus on raising awareness and funds for those affected.

Universal Music Group (UMG) has announced the cancellation of events surrounding the 2025 Grammy Awards in response to the devastating wildfires currently impacting the Los Angeles area. This includes the artist showcase and after-party. Instead, Universal will redirect the allocated funds to provide support for those affected by the fires, as well as the first responders working tirelessly to combat the crisis.

While the Grammy Awards ceremony, scheduled for February 2nd, will proceed as planned, it will take on a focus which aims to use the global platform of the awards to raise awareness and additional funds for wildfire relief efforts.

UMG shared that this decision was made in solidarity with those impacted by the wildfires, including many within their own community being employees or artists.

The fires have already caused widespread damage, displacing thousands of residents and endangering lives and property across the region. Choosing to cancel celebratory events and instead prioritize relief efforts, shows that by using their influence and resources for meaningful action reinforces this widespread support to the Los Angeles community.
