TikTok generated 74 million viewers tuning in to Tomorrowland 2025. Discover how the festival became the platform’s biggest event ever.
TikTok has set a new milestone in live broadcasting, drawing more than 74 million unique viewers to its livestream of Tomorrowland 2025, the highest audience ever recorded for a live event on the platform. This figure represents an increase from the 16 million viewers who tuned in during the 2023 edition of the festival.
Held across two weekends in Boom, Belgium, Tomorrowland 2025 marked TikTok’s most ambitious partnership with a live music festival to date. As the official content partner, TikTok offered continuous livestreams from the MainStage, Freedom Stage, and OneWorld Radio, as well as exclusive behind-the-scenes content through its dedicated onsite Content Studio.
In total, videos tagged with #Tomorrowland generated over 2.4 billion views across TikTok during the event period, while Tomorrowland’s official TikTok account gained 1.9 million new followers, bringing its total to 9.2 million, making it the most-followed festival account on the platform.
With hundreds of thousands of fans attending in person, the livestream extended the festival’s global presence, allowing millions to experience the event remotely in real-time.
TikTok’s live broadcasts featured exclusive artist interviews, backstage moments, and curated content accessible through a centralized #Tomorrowland hub within the app. The platform’s vertical video format allowed for a mobile-friendly, interactive viewing experience.
Participating artists saw significant boosts in visibility and fan interaction during the festival. Collectively, Tomorrowland performers gained over 3 million new followers on TikTok, with videos related to their sets amassing over 580 million views.
Among the most-watched acts on TikTok’s livestream were:
- Charlotte de Witte, who became the first artist to perform twice on the MainStage in a single day.
- Martin Garrix, who headlined both closing Sunday sets.
- Alan Walker, who performed “Heartbreak Melody,” a track produced in collaboration with TikTok’s SoundOn and released through Tomorrowland Music.
SoundOn, TikTok’s in-house music distribution platform, played a role in the festival’s content strategy, hosting a songwriting camp in Brussels where artists collaborated on original tracks. The partnership is set to continue with upcoming releases such as “Pegassi”, scheduled for August 15.
Michael Kümmerle, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Partnership Development, commented on the success:
“Electronic music has always been one of the most active and creative communities on TikTok. This year’s Tomorrowland was a perfect example of how live events and digital platforms can create a global shared experience.”
Nichal Sethi, Head of SoundOn EMEA, added:
“Combining Tomorrowland’s scale with TikTok’s creative community allowed us to spotlight both established names and emerging artists in a unique way. The response exceeded all expectations.”
Tomorrowland 2025 marks a moment in how live music experiences are evolving in the digital age. For TikTok, this success reinforces its growing role as not just a short-form video app, but a major player in live entertainment and artist promotion.
The festival’s livestream success is expected to influence how other large-scale events approach digital partnerships, with live streaming poised to become a central feature of fan engagement strategies. For TikTok, this also aligns with its broader ambitions to expand live commerce and interactive livestream experiences in global markets.
