Spotify and Netflix have teamed up to bring video podcasts to Netflix viewers in the US.

Spotify is expanding the way audiences experience podcasts through a new partnership with Netflix. From early 2026, a selection of video podcasts from Spotify Studios and The Ringer will be available on Netflix in the US, with other countries expected to follow. This collaboration brings creators’ work to a wider audience and reflects the growing popularity of video podcasts.

Fans can look forward to a variety of video podcasts spanning sports, culture, lifestyle, and true crime. Initial titles include “The Bill Simmons Podcast”, “The Zach Lowe Show”, “The McShay Show”, “The Rewatchables”, “Conspiracy Theories”, and “Serial Killers”, plus many more.

Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy, said:

“At Netflix, we’re always looking for new ways to entertain our members, wherever and however they want to watch. As video podcasts continue to grow in popularity, our partnership with Spotify allows us to bring full video versions of these top shows to both Netflix and Spotify audiences. From pop culture and lifestyle to true crime and sports, this curated selection of video podcasts adds fresh voices and new perspectives to Netflix, making our entertainment lineup more exciting than ever.”

What began as an audio-only medium has now become a multi-format landscape. Video podcasts are rising in popularity, with Spotify reporting over 250,000 video podcasts on its platform and growing.

Spotify is helping creators reach new audiences in innovative ways. Roman Wasenmüller, Spotify VP and Head of Podcasts, explained, “This partnership marks a new chapter for podcasting. Together with Netflix, we’re expanding discovery, helping creators reach new audiences, and giving fans around the world the chance to experience the stories they love and uncover favourites they never expected. This offers more choice to creators and unlocks a completely new distribution opportunity.”

According to Digital Music News, YouTube continues to dominate the video podcast space, with 72% of listeners surveyed saying they prefer shows with video. YouTube has also recently enhanced its podcast experience with a new dedicated tab for TV app, showing that video podcasts are becoming a central focus for major platforms.

Spotify has emphasised that creators will continue to retain control over their work, will benefit from multiple revenue streams, and will be supported in building sustainable businesses. With this collaboration, video podcasts are set to become more accessible, more engaging, and more connected, offering fans fresh ways to enjoy stories while giving creators exciting opportunities to grow their reach.
