Abbey Road Orchestra Symphonic Strings

Famous for its superior acoustics and historical significance in the music industry, Abbey Road Studio One has played host to numerous pop stars and world-renowned artists. Now, Spitfire Audio has captured the performances of a 60-piece string section, made up of some of the world’s finest musicians, inside the famous studio.

The Symphonic Strings collection is available in two tiers: Core and Professional. The Core version provides 82 articulations, including long legatos, Tremolo, Harmonics, Trills, and more. It even includes a single, pre-mixed signal created by Grammy-winning engineer Simon Rhodes.

Meanwhile, the Professional tier provides an extended range of articulations, additional legato techniques, and 16 different signal options (including two custom mixes by Rhodes).

Spitfire Audio’s new legato technology offers smooth and expressive transitions between notes, coupled with a new layer of legato intervals triggered by playing speed and velocity, enhances the playability and responsiveness of the software instruments, particularly in mid to up-tempo passages.

The release of this comprehensive string library marks a significant milestone in Spitfire Audio’s collaboration with Abbey Road Studios. Previous releases in the Abbey Road Orchestra series include High Percussion, Low Percussion, and Metal Percussion, as well as individual string sections like 1st Violins and Cellos. Now, the addition of the complete string section offers artists a robust and detailed toolkit for creating realistic orchestral music.
