All Moog synthesizer apps on iPhone and iPad are currently free

To celebrate founder Bob Moog’s birthday, all iOS apps from the synthesizer manufacturer are free on the App Store.
Renowned analogue synthesizer maker in the 60s and 70s, Moog have made all of there popular synth apps free to mark the birthday of founder Bob Moog, who died in 2005. Last Sunday would have been his 87th birthday. It’s unclear how long these app will be free for, so if you’re interested in testing out a few new mobile synth apps, act fast. All apps are designed for both the iPhone and iPad.
- Minimoog Model D Synthesizer – Mobile transmutation of the world’s first portable synthesizer
- Model 15 Modular Synthesizer – The first Moog modular synthesizer and synthesis education tool
- Animoog (for iPhone) (for iPad) – Captures the vast sonic vocabulary of the Moog synthesizers and applies it to the modern touch surface paradigm
- Filtatron – Realtime audio filter and effects engine
These apps don’t usually come cheap either. Minimoog Model D usually sells for $14.99, Model 15 Modular is usually $29.99, Animoog is normally $19.99, while Filtatron is usually $4.99. Moog made the Minimoog Model D app free at the start of the pandemic, until September last year.
The Model 15 is also available as an AUv3 plugin for Logic Pro, GarageBand and Mainstage on macOS Big Sur.
