Love karaoke? LG’s latest xboom speaker can strip vocals from your favourite songs using AI, making sing-alongs easier than ever. Find out what it can do.

LG Electronics is set to shake up the portable speaker market with a bold new addition to its xboom lineup: a party speaker that uses AI to strip vocals out of virtually any song, making regular tracks instantly karaoke-ready without the need for special files or mixes.

The standout model in this new range is the xboom Stage 501, unveiled ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas. Rather than relying on pre-made karaoke tracks or apps, the Stage 501 includes an AI Karaoke Master feature that analyzes the audio from your playlist and either removes or reduces the lead vocals in real time. You can even adjust the pitch of the song so it fits your singing range, allowing friends and family to duet, harmonise or take centre stage at any party.

LG’s approach builds the vocal removal tool right into the speaker hardware, meaning you can stream music from your phone or other device and the speaker will do the rest. It aims to turn any crowd-pleasing playlist into an impromptu karaoke session without needing a separate app, subscription service, or karaoke-specific version of a song.

Beyond AI-powered karaoke, the Stage 501 doesn’t skimp on core speaker features. It delivers powerful sound with up to 220 W of output when plugged in, or 160 W on battery, and promises up to 25 hours of playback thanks to a swappable 99 Wh battery. Dual woofers, full-range drivers and precision tweeters give the speaker plenty of punch for indoor parties or larger gatherings.

LG hasn’t stopped at karaoke mode. The broader xboom series also integrates several smart features designed to enhance music and ambience. All models support AI Sound to automatically tweak EQ settings based on what’s playing, while AI Lighting syncs multicoloured LED lights to the rhythm of the music. On select models, Space Calibration Pro uses onboard microphones to tailor sound output to your room or outdoor environment, delivering a consistently rich listening experience.

The expanded lineup includes other new speakers such as the xboom Blast, built for outdoor adventures with rugged protection and extended battery life; the compact xboom Mini for on-the-go listening; and the tough xboom Rock, engineered to withstand bumps and drops while still delivering lively sound.

With this update, LG is positioning itself to compete not just on raw audio performance, but on smart features and user experience, turning normal music playback into an interactive and social experience. Whether you’re hosting a house party, camping with friends, or just singing along after dinner, the xboom Stage 501 aims to make it easier, and more fun, to turn any track into your karaoke backing.
