Kiko Kostadinov x Beats Pill – £90 for a new color?
Beats has announced their latest collaboration with Bulgarian fashion designer Kiko Kostadinov on a limited-edition Beats Pill.
Last year Beats updated their long neglected Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker, bringing improved sound, 24 hours of battery life, IP67 dust and water resistance, iOS and Android compatibility, USB-C, a built-in lanyard, and more. Launching at $150 in Matte Black, Statement Red, and Champagne Gold, the Beats Pill can now be found on Amazon for $100, with two additional colors – Dark Gray and Light Gray, from the Kim Kardashian collaboration in October last year. Beats Pill also comes in Blush Pink exclusively from Target and Navy Blue exclusively from Walmart.
Now, there is one more color option, but it’ll cost you. Beats call the new Kiko Kostadinov x Beats Pill “a thoughtful fusion of modern design and historical influence.”
For this collaboration, we looked to the ornate geometry found in ancient iconography, reinterpreting those motifs for the speaker’s custom grill. These shapes, rooted in the visual language of Thracian craftsmanship, speak to a history where pattern and meaning were closely intertwined.
The speaker and charging cable come in a neutral “Kiko gray”, while the braided lanyard is inspired by the cermonial threads found in Bulgarian folk tradition. Under the new hood, it’s the same old Beats Pill that launched last year.
The new Kiko Kostadinov x Beats Pill is available to order exclusively on the Kiko Kostadinov website for £180. When the non-Kostadinov colors can be found for under £90 on Amazon, it makes the new “Kiko gray” option a hard sell.
