Instagram carousels perform better than single photos according to the Head of Instagram
Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri has explained why carousels of multiple photos and videos often perform better than single photos.
In another quick tip video, Adam Mosseri explains that carousels get more reach than single photo posts for two reasons. One, multiple piece of media means more interactions, and more interactions means more reach. Two, if someone sees a carousel but doesn’t swipe, it can show up again, showing the second slide.
Mosseri also advices users to add music to carousels and photos to futher boost reach. Including music makes the post eligible to show up in the Reels tab.
