Fever, a live events tech firm, has bought Dice in hopes to expand global reach.

Fever has acquired Dice, the mobile ticketing company known for its fan-first approach to live events. The news follows a report from Music Ally earlier the same day that Fever had secured a $100 million funding round to expand its position in the live-events sector. The Dice deal is one of the first signs of how that investment will be used.

While Dice will continue to run as an independent app, its integration with Fever brings access to a far wider audience. According to the announcement, artists, promoters and venues using Dice will now be able to tap into Fever’s discovery platform, which reached 300 million people last year across over 40 countries.

Dice CEO Phil Hutcheon said: “Joining forces allows us to scale even faster. Reaching new cities, helping sell out more shows, and delivering the seamless experience fans expect.” Fever’s co-founders Ignacio Bachiller, Alexandre Perez and Francisco Hein added: “Together, we are strengthening our position as the leading global tech player for culture & live entertainment. We are on a joint mission to put fans first and provide our partners with the best and most innovative tools.”

As Music Ally notes, Dice has grown its user base to more than 10 million monthly active users and says it has more than doubled ticket sales in the last two years.

Since launching in 2014, Dice has secured significant investment, including $122 million in 2021 and $65 million in 2023. In 2022, the company reported $28.5 million in revenue – up 359% from the previous year- but also saw operating losses rise to $51.1 million. Its 2023 accounts are still overdue.

In 2023, Dice restructured its operations, made layoffs, and sold off Boiler Room, the electronic music platform it had bought in 2021. It also took part in efforts to reform ticketing in the US, co-founding the Fix The Tix coalition and appearing at President Biden’s announcement on hidden fees.
