The DJ Awards 2024 has revealed the nominees for its DJ of the Year category. The ceremony, returning after a four-year hiatus, will take place on October 2, 2024, at the renowned Club Chinois in Ibiza.

The award aims to recognize and celebrate the top talents in the DJ world, and this year’s shortlist includes some of the biggest names in the industry.

The contenders for DJ of the Year 2024 are Calvin Harris, David Guetta, and Peggy Gou—each a powerhouse in their own right.

They will compete against Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Fisher, Martin Garrix, and Swedish House Mafia. All of these DJs have made significant contributions to the global dance music scene, earning them a spot on this prestigious list.

Calvin Harris, known for his chart-topping hits and genre-defining productions, has long been a staple in the EDM world. Meanwhile, David Guetta, a pioneer of the popular electronic music scene, continues to dominate both mainstream and underground charts with his infectious beats.

Finally, Peggy Gou, a rising star, has captured the hearts of dance music lovers worldwide with her unique blend of house and techno.

The 2024 edition of the DJ Awards marks a significant moment for the event, as it comes back after a lengthy break with new ownership and a fresh vision.

Originally founded in 1998 by José Pascual and Lenny Krarup, the awards have always sought to honour excellence in the DJing community. Now under the direction of Andy Grant, the ceremony has received substantial investment, which promises to elevate the experience for both artists and fans alike.

This year’s theme, Unity, reflects the universal power of music to bring people together, a sentiment echoed by Grant: “Music has power—the power to unite us, to cheer us up, to give us the chills, to instantly remind us of a long-lost memory, to create a vibe, to set a mood, or to even motivate change.”

This theme is also embodied in the new Best Dancefloor Memory competition, inviting fans worldwide to share their favourite moments on Instagram, with one lucky participant winning a trip to Ibiza to collect a genuine DJ Award.

In addition to the DJ of the Year category, the awards will also cover a range of genres, including house, tech house, drum & bass, techno, progressive house, and trance, ensuring that all corners of the electronic music landscape are recognized.
