Deezer launch the Japanese Music channel – a selection of playlists that capture the sounds and culture of Japan
Deezer hopes their new Japanese Music channel will bring the sounds of Japan to the rest of the world.
Step aside K-pop, as J-pop and other Japanese genres take the world by storm. Deezer are showcasing the incredible talent of Japanese artists. The growing popularity of Japanese music caused streams of Deezer’s Japan Lo-fi & Chill playlist to grow by over 700% at the end of last year, with J-pop surging by a third during the first global lockdown in March.
Deezer’s new Japanese Music channel is the hub for all sorts of music from Japan. Full of curated playlists from local editors, the channel highlights new music, artists and albums, as well as older classics of different genres and moods. Explore J-pop, J-rock, City Pop, Japan Anime, Japanese Hip-Hop, ambient/meditation sounds and gaming soundtracks, from exclusive playlists curated by locals such as J-pop artist Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Jazz trumpeter Takuya Kuroda.
