Deezer achieved a profit in 2025 for the first time
French streaming platform Deezer reaches profitability in FY2025, powered by AI transparency and steady subscriber growth.
A milestone year for Deezer
2025 will go down as a landmark year for Deezer. For the first time in its history, the French streaming platform reached profitability. The financials show that Deezer is finding its rhythm as it continues to differentiate. Deezer reported revenues of €534 million in 2025, slightly down from €541.7 million in 2024.
Deezer ended the year with profitability for the first time in its history. Deezer’s EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) hit €10 million, up from a €4 million loss in 2024. Even more importantly, Deezer posted a net income of €8 million, compared to a €26 million loss the year before.
“2025 marked a turning point for Deezer. For the first time in our history, we delivered positive net income, alongside sustained positive free cash flow and double-digit adjusted EBITDA… Our strategy is gaining traction and delivering tangible results.”
Alexis Lanternier, CEO of Deezer

What’s driving Deezer’s performance?
Deezer’s success has come from a mixture of strong user engagement, its long-standing partnerships, and its commitment to artists. Here’s how:
Strong user momentum
- Subscriber growth: Both in France (+8.6%) and Rest of World (+7.7%).
- Gen Z traction: Higher engagement than other audiences (9% WAUs vs 7%).
- Enhanced app experience: Deezer’s new features include algorithm control, playlist customization, My Deezer Month, and cross-platform sharing to friends on other streaming platforms.
Artist-first approach
- AI detection tools: Deezer remains the only music streaming platform to clearly tag AI tracks, exclude them from recommendations, and demonetize those that benefit from fraudulent streams.
- Artist Centric Payment System: Deezer continued its leadership in fair remuneration, with 85% of partners now on the ACPS model.
Partnerships still thriving
- More partnerships: Renewed and expanded partnerships, including major ones with TIM and Sonos.
- Licensing opportunities: Deezer’s AI detection technology offers new monetization opportunities to help others in the industry tackle AI music in streaming.
What comes next?
Moving forward, the focus for Deezer is clear. Expect continued investment in artist support, further improvements to the user experience, and deeper exploration of AI solutions that benefit real artists.
When it comes to AI specifically, Deezer’s stance isn’t changing. The platform reiterated that it will “keep its clear stance on AI-generated music content in support of artists and human creativity”.
