Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3: The best sounding wireless headphones just got updated
Premium audio brand, Bowers & Wilkins just updated their lower-end Px7 series of headphones, with improved design and performance.
British, high-end audio brand Bowers & Wilkins, known for their premium speakers and headphones, have just launched the Px7 S3. Bowers & Wilkins have several over-ear headphones, including the $230 Px7 S2, $400 Px7 S2e, and $700 to $800 (depending on whether you get the McLaren Edition) Px8. The Px7 S3 looks to fit in the lineup between the Px7 S2e and Px8. While often expensive, Bowers & Wilkins wireless headphones are frequently some of the best sounding pairs on the market.
The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 feature a premium design, with a new headband and slimmer earcups than the previous model. The headphones are primarily made of fabric, rather than leather as on the higher end models. The cusions and headband can be replaced by Bowers & Wilkins. The headphones weigh in at 300g, which is heavier than the 250g Sony WH-1000XM5 and lighter than the infamously heavy 385g AirPods Max. They lay flat but do not fold, leading to a somewhat large case.

There are physical buttons for volume and play/pause controls. While these controls are limited, they are likely preferred over the finicky touch controls on many competitors. There is no 3.5mm headphones jack, however the USB-C port can be used for charging and wired audio. A USB-C to USB-C cable and USB-C to 3.5mm audio cable are included in the box. The built-in DAC supports audio up to 24-bit when wired via USB-C.

The Px7 S3 has eight respositioned microphones, four on each earcup. These ensure clear calls, effective noise cancelling and pass-through mode, for when you want to hear the outside world.

The headphones feature Bluetooth 5.3, with support for aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive. These features provide top performance and connectivity on supported devices. There’s also support for Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast for sharing music with other Auracast headphones and earbuds. The LC3 codec and spatial audio are coming later in the year as a software update. Internally, the drivers are redesigned too, with a 40mm dynamic full range bio cellulose driver and a dedicated amplifier in each earcup.

The Px7 S3 will last for up to 30 hours of playback, which is on par with Bowers & Wilkins other pairs. A 15-minute quick charge will provide up to 7 hours of playback.
While not required, the Bowers & Wilkins Music mobile app will grant wearers additional controls. You can integrate your music streaming service into the app, for playback controls there. You can also manage devices, noise cancellation settings and toggle a five-band EQ.

The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 are available in Canvas White, Anthracite Black and Indigo Blue. Unfortuantely there is no word on US pricing or availability because of uncertainty around tariffs. In the UK, the headphones are available today for £399.
