Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 100 – the same drivers but improvements everywhere else
Eight years after the original AVENTHO launched, the second generation brings ANC and triple the battery life, at less than half the price.
German audio manufacturer Beyerdynamic, known for their profession and consumer headphones and microphones, has announced their new AVENTHO 100 wireless on-ear headphones with ANC. The original AVENTHO were released in 2017. While the drivers haven’t changed, not only does this new pair bring active noise cancellation, a new design, improved connectivity and increased battery life, but they also significantly reduced the price.
The AVENTHO 100 combines an iconic look with smart features for everyday urban life. With high-quality materials, its stylish design and a sound that impresses in every situation, it is made for anyone who doesn’t want to compromise on aesthetics and performance while on the go.

Beyerdynamic has gone all in on design with the AVENTHO 100, winning the headphones the 2025 Red Dot Design Award. The headphones are an on-ear design, making them smaller than typical over-ear headphones, sitting on top of your ear rather than around. The AVENTHO 100 currently come in three colors – black, brown and cream. They are constructed of an aluminum frame and textile cables, linned with a memory foam headband and ear pads that adapt to the user’s ear, covered in synthetic leather. The ear pads are detachable, which makes replacing worn pads easy. The headphones are foldable and come with a drawstring carry bag that will protect the headphones from stratches, but is not as rugged as a hard shell case. The headphones are on the lighter side, weighing 220 grams, compared to competitors such as the Sony WH-1000XM6 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra which both weigh around 250 grams, or the Apple AirPods Max at around 380 gram.

Internally, the dynamic 45mm drivers are the same as in the original AVENTHO headphones, however improved connectivity should lead to improved audio quality. The headphones connect via Bluetooth 5.4, with support for multipoint, enabling simultaneous connection to two devices for quick switching. They support AAC and SBC codecs, with aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive also available on compatible devices. Android users get Google Fast Pair for one-touch pairing. There are two ENC microphones and cVc, Qualcomm’s clear voice capture technology, which cancels echo and noise, for clear calls.
The AVENTHO 100 introduces active noise cancellation. Transparency Mode passes through some of the outside world to help you stay aware of your surroundings. These two modes can be switched via the power button. There are three levels of ANC available in the app.
There are four physical buttons on the AVENTHO 100 headphones. An on/off/ANC mode button, volume up, volume down and a multifunction button, which can play/pause, next track, previous track, accept/end calls, reject calls or summon the voice assistant.

Battery life is massively improved. The AVENTHO 100 last for up to 40 hours of playback with ANC on and up to 60 hours with ANC off, a big improvement over the 20 hours available on the original headphones. A 15-minute charge will provide up to 15 hours of listening. The headphones now charge via USB-C, with a USB-A to USB-C cable included in the box. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack too, with an include aux cable included in the box.

The Beyerdynamic app is available to customize features. The app can be used to customize the equalizer via presets or a 5-band EQ, customize the multifunction button, install firmware updates and tweak additional device settings.

The Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 100 were released this week and are currently available in Europe and Canada. Global availability, including the US is expected later, but no word on timing. They cost €199, which is significantly more affordable than the €449 launch price of the originals.
