Top 20 best-selling artists of 2024
Recording industry representative, IFPI has crunched last year’s numbers and revealed the best-selling artists worldwide.
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry has revealed their annual award for the Global Recording Artist of the Year. Their data is based on worldwide sales, across physical formats, downloads, as well as free and paid streaming, for the calendar year.
For the Global Artist Chart specifically, data is based on an artist’s entire body of work.
The winner of the biggest-selling Global Recording Artist of the Year 2024 is Taylor Swift. With the release of her eleventh studio album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, as well as recent Taylor’s Version re-releases and The Eras Tour boosting older releases, it’s no wonder Taylor Swift has been able to continue her success.
As the 12th year of the Global Recording Artist of the Year Award, this win marks the fifth time Taylor Swift has topped the list and third consecutive year, both more than any other artist. Previous years include 2014, 2019, 2022 and 2023.

The top 20 also highlights breakthrough artists, with Zach Bryan and Sabrina Carpenter both making their first appearance in the top 10.
