Beatport CEO is Leaving – Trouble Ahead for the Music Download Store?
Beatport CEO Matthew Adell has announced he will be leaving his role.
Electronic music portal Beatport was founded in 2004 and then acquired by EDM conglomerate SFX in 2013. It underwent a large round of layoffs towards the end of last year as the company was restructured.
Beatport’s Lloyd Starr will continue in his role as COO as well as taking on the position of president of Beatport Pro, the company’s DJ music service.
“I’m humbled by this opportunity to lead the evolution of Beatport into what is going to be an exciting future,” said Starr. “I’m looking forward to working with Beatport’s suppliers, partners, customers, and fans to continue offering the quality experience they’ve come to expect.”
