Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro details and images leak suggesting ANC in an in-ear design
Due to debut early next year alongside the S21, Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro shows a similar Buds+ design with ANC.
Last month, SamMobile gathered leaked information on the Galaxy S21. These details were later confirmed by leaker Evan Blass and backed up with images of the next pair of Galaxy Buds from an FCC filing. The images show a pair of violet buds and their case, while filings note an improved 500mAh battery.
Samsung currently have three designs in their truly wireless earbuds line up:
- Galaxy Buds Live: 129.99 – an open design with ANC
- Galaxy Buds+: $99.99 – in-ear circular design with seriously impressive battery life
- Galaxy Buds: $79 – baseline in-ear circular design earbuds
This new pair is thought to be called Galaxy Buds Pro. From the images we can tell the buds have an updated design that is reminiscent of the circular in-ear Buds and Buds+, rather than the bean shaped, open design of Buds Live, that despite having active noise cancelling still let in a significant amount of noise. Buds Pro appears to have a more oval shape exterior over the triangular exterior of the Buds and Buds+. The case is more familiar with that of the Buds Live, with a rounded square design, rather than the pill-shaped case of the Buds and Buds+. With Buds Pro, we should at last see ANC come to a pair of in-ear Buds for ultimate noise isolation. Despite an improved battery size on paper, with the addition of ANC, we may not see this translate to longer lasting buds. Finally the other differentiator comes from the prominent speaker grille, potentially for improved voice pick-up on calls and ANC.
The idea of a ‘Pro’ model suggests they’ll sit alongside the current models at a higher price, rather than replace them. We’ll likely see the new Galaxy S21 and Galaxy Buds Pro hit the stage in January or February next year.
