Apple Music marks a decade of streaming with special radio programming and a new LA studio for artists.
Apple Music is celebrating its 10th anniversary with more than just nostalgia. Alongside launching an “Replay All Time” playlist which lets users listen to their top tracks since joining Apple Music, the streaming platform is rolling out special radio programming, revealing its 500 most streamed tracks of all time, and launching a new studio in Los Angeles designed to empower artists.
Special radio programming
Apple Music Radio has always been a core part of the platform. To mark the 10-year milestone, it’s hosting a full week of exclusive live programming. These specials delve into artist stories, live moments, and exclusive releases- the kind of stuff “that only Apple could deliver”.
“Ten years on, Apple Music Radio is everything we hoped it would be. It’s a place where we can eventize music, a place where music comes first, always.”
Zane Lowe, Global Creative Director and Radio Host for Apple Music
Revealing Apple Music’s top 500 most-streamed songs
Apple Music Radio is unveiling the 500 most-streamed songs on the platform since it launched in 2015. The countdown kicks off today (July 1), revealing 100 songs each day up to the big reveal of the top 100 most-streamed songs on July 5.
Apple’s full list of 500 songs will then be made available to stream in a new “10 Years of Apple Music: Top Songs” playlist.
This countdown also marks a rare moment of streaming transparency from Apple Music. Unlike Spotify, Apple has historically not shown things like streams counts which indicate what’s popular. Now, this ranking offers an easily quantifiable glimpse into what’s been most popular across the platform.
Update
The “10 Years of Apple Music: Top Songs” playlist is now available and can be found here.
A new LA studio opening for artists
Apple is also opening a new three-story, 15,000-square-foot Apple Music studio in Los Angeles. It includes advanced radio facilities, a 4,000-square-foot soundstage, a spatial audio mixing room, and spaces for photography, songwriting, editing, and social media content creation.

Apple says this new space furthers its commitment to helping artists at every stage of their careers.
“Apple Music Radio has always been a home for storytelling and artistry, serving as a space for bold conversations and surprising moments. With this new studio, we are furthering our commitment to creating a space for artists to create, connect, and share their vision.”
