Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro bring a screen to the charging case and more
Soundcore’s Liberty 4 Pro improve upon the non-Pro earbuds in almost every way, including the case, ANC, audio quality and battery life.
Anker’s audio brand Soundcore, known for their affordable wireless headphones, earbuds and speakers, announce a new Pro addition to their Liberty 4 true wireless earbuds. The Liberty 4 NC are Soundcore’s leading noise canceling Bluetooth earbuds. The Liberty 4 Pro bring many new additions.
Most notably is the redesigned charging case, which introduces a screen and touch bar. The screen displays information, such as earbud battery life or which listening mode is active, between ANC and transparency. The touch bar below allows you to control the earbuds, for example being able to switch listening mode or dial up the amount of ANC. This allows for a phone-free experience.
This isn’t the first pair of earbuds we’ve seen with a screen. JBL Tour Pro 3 have a 1.57-inch touch screen, with far more functionality, such as playback controls, volume adjustments, EQ settings and can even display device notifications. That being said, JBL’s screen is far less discreet than Soundcore’s sleek integration. JBL’s Tour Pro 3 are also more than double the price of Soundcore’s Liberty 4 Pro.
Improved sound quality comes to the Liberty 4 Pro from new dual drivers, including a 10.5mm bass driver and 4.6mm titanium-coated tweeter. The earbuds connect via Bluetooth 5.3 and support codecs SBC, AAC and LDAC on Android devices for higher bitrate sound. There’s also improved call quality, to keep you sounding clear on phone calls.
The Liberty 4 Pros also improve the noise canceling over the non-Pro models. Soundcore claim the Liberty 4 Pro has up to 3x stronger noise cancellation than previous models, thanks to Adaptive ANC 3.0, a real-time algorithm, and seven sensor, including a barometric sensor to account for air pressure and improve flight performance. The Liberty 4 Pro come with six different ear tip sizes in the box to ensure a perfect in-ear fit.
The last big update comes to battery life. The Liberty 4 Pro earbuds will last for 10 hours on a single charge with ANC turned off. Turn ANC on for 7.5 hours. With the case, you can expect 40 hours of total listening time with ANC off and 30 hours with ANC turned on. Need some charge in a pinch? The Liberty 4 Pro charger faster, with just five minutes providing four hours of playtime. The case changes via USB-C or wirelessly. There’s a USB-C to USB-A cable included in the box.
IPX4 is upped to IPX5 for better rain and sweat resistance. There are plenty of features carried over from the non-Pro model, including spatial audio with head tracking, and touch/swipe controls to control playback, volume, calls and ANC/transparency mode.
The new Liberty 4 Pro are $129.99. The Liberty 4 NC have just dropped to $69.99. Liberty 4 Pro come in Glossy Light Blue, Glossy Black, and White. At $129.99, the Liberty 4 Pro are Soundcore’s second most-expensive earbuds currently on sale, after the $149.99 Sleep A20.
