Set a release date for your track
Your music can be added to playlists at any time but it has its best chances of being featured in Spotify’s top playlists on release day. To ensure that Spotify’s playlist curators have a chance to check out your release before it goes live, set a release date in the future that gives your track time to be moderated by RouteNote, sent to Spotify and then heard by curators. We recommend at least 4 weeks in advance.
Claim your Spotify for Artists account
Once you have at least one upload that has been sent to Spotify you’ll be able to claim your Spotify for Artists account. This gives you insightful streaming data on how your tracks are performing and the playlists they’re being added to. Your Spotify for Artists account lets you customise your artist profile and will be where you pitch your music to Spotify’s in-house playlist curators.
Pitch your music to Spotify playlists
Once your music has been sent to Spotify and it’s ready to go live for release day, it’s time to pitch. Head to your Spotify for Artists account then go to the Music tab. You’ll be able to view your upcoming releases here and the option to Pitch a Song will be available to select. From there you can submit your track and give details on it so that it gets put in front of the right playlist curator.
