Beyerdynamic has announced its new Aventho Y wireless headphones, and the headline feature is seriously impressive battery life.

The new over-ear headphones can deliver up to 90 hours of listening on a single charge with active noise cancellation switched off. Even with ANC enabled, Beyerdynamic says listeners can expect up to 60 hours of playback.

That means many listeners could potentially go an entire week — or considerably longer — without needing to charge them.

Five Minutes of Charging Gives You Six Hours

The Aventho Y also supports fast charging.

A five-minute charge can provide up to six hours of additional listening time, making them particularly useful for travelling or commuting when you suddenly realise your headphones are running low.

Beyerdynamic has also included Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint connectivity, allowing users to connect the headphones to multiple devices and switch between something like a laptop and smartphone.

They’re Designed to Last Longer Too

Another interesting feature is repairability.

The battery and ear cushions can be replaced by the user, while other high-wear components have also been designed with replacement in mind. That’s an increasingly useful feature when batteries are often the first component to degrade in wireless headphones.

The headphones also feature 45mm drivers, foldable construction and customisable EQ settings through Beyerdynamic’s app.

A Lot of Headphones for $150

Perhaps the biggest surprise is the price.

The Aventho Y will cost $150 and will be available in four colour options.

With up to 90 hours of battery life, ANC, Bluetooth 6.0 and replaceable components, Beyerdynamic appears to be targeting listeners who want premium features without paying premium flagship headphone prices.

For anyone whose biggest frustration with wireless headphones is constantly having to charge them, the Aventho Y could be one to watch.
