VYRMA may be one of the more mysterious new artists to emerge from the Nordic music scene in 2026, but there is at least one human name that repeatedly appears behind the project.

Marios Demetriou.

While VYRMA’s public image revolves around a mysterious female Nordic character, music credits across several VYRMA releases tell a slightly different story.

Demetriou appears repeatedly as a songwriter, composer and lyricist connected to the music.

So who is Marios Demetriou, and how much do we actually know about his involvement with VYRMA?

Marios Demetriou appears throughout VYRMA’s credits

The clearest evidence comes from VYRMA’s debut album, Völvan Vaknar.

The 12-track album was released on May 10, 2026. Qobuz credits VYRMA as the main artist and producer, while Marios Demetriou is listed as lyricist and composer across the album.

That is important because VYRMA is presented publicly as the artist, but the songwriting metadata identifies another person behind the music.

The pattern continues on Bloorun.

Released on June 19, 2026, Bloorun includes tracks such as “Víkingar Rísa”, “Vargnótt” and “Hrafnablóð”. Qobuz again lists VYRMA as the main artist and producer, while Demetriou receives lyricist and composer credits.

Then things become slightly more interesting with GODS REMEMBER.

On that album, Qobuz credits VYRMA as main artist, producer and “vocal accompaniment”, while Marios Demetriou is credited as lyricist on the tracks.

Does Marios Demetriou sing VYRMA’s songs?

There is currently no reliable public evidence confirming that.

The credits establish that Demetriou is involved in creating the music, but they do not identify him as the vocalist.

That distinction matters.

VYRMA’s official website describes VYRMA as a “Nordic music artist and original music project”, rather than providing the kind of traditional biography you might expect from a solo singer.

The project prominently features female vocals and a female visual character, but no named female singer is currently listed in the public-facing biography.
