YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States will soon receive access to Peacock Premium as part of their existing membership.

YouTube and NBCUniversal have announced a major new strategic partnership that will bundle the ad-supported Peacock Premium service with eligible YouTube Premium subscriptions. The bundle is expected to launch in early 2027, although an exact release date has not yet been confirmed.

The deal significantly expands what is included with YouTube Premium, moving the subscription beyond ad-free YouTube videos and music into traditional television, movies and live sports.

Is Peacock Premium free with YouTube Premium?

Peacock Premium will be included with eligible YouTube Premium memberships in the US at no additional cost.

The Peacock Premium plan currently costs $10.99 per month when purchased separately. It is the ad-supported version of Peacock rather than the more expensive Peacock Premium Plus plan.

Subscribers will be able to access Peacock content directly through the YouTube experience, creating a more integrated streaming subscription rather than requiring viewers to manage several completely separate services.

The bundle will only apply to eligible full YouTube Premium subscriptions. YouTube Premium Lite subscribers are not currently expected to receive Peacock access.

When will Peacock be added to YouTube Premium?

NBCUniversal says Peacock Premium will become part of the YouTube Premium bundle in early 2027.

YouTube has said that further information and official launch dates will be shared with subscribers over the coming months.

This means existing subscribers do not need to take any action yet. More details about eligibility, account linking and how subscribers activate Peacock should be announced closer to launch.

What will YouTube Premium subscribers be able to watch on Peacock?

Peacock gives subscribers access to a large catalogue of NBCUniversal television programmes, movies, original productions and live sporting events.

Content available through Peacock includes:

• Law & Order: SVU
• Love Island USA
• The Traitors
• The Real Housewives franchise
• Universal Pictures movies

Peacock also carries major sporting events and competitions, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, Premier League, WNBA, the Olympics, college football, college basketball, golf and the Kentucky Derby.

YouTube Premium already includes ad-free viewing across most YouTube videos, background playback, offline downloads and a full YouTube Music Premium subscription. Adding Peacock gives members access to a much broader entertainment catalogue under a single subscription.

Can subscribers upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus?

YouTube says it plans to introduce options allowing subscribers to upgrade their Peacock membership.

Peacock Premium Plus provides additional features and a more limited advertising experience, although some adverts can still appear during live events and selected programming.

Pricing and upgrade details for YouTube Premium members have not yet been announced.

Peacock Premium Plus is already available as a separate subscription through YouTube Primetime Channels, where it currently costs $16.99 per month. Peacock Premium will also become available as an individual YouTube Primetime Channels add-on later in summer 2026.

Will the YouTube and Peacock bundle be available outside the US?

The Peacock Premium bundle is currently being introduced for YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States.

However, the partnership also includes plans for international streaming bundles. NBCUniversal says its Universal+ and Hayu services will be offered through YouTube Premium in selected international markets.

YouTube has not confirmed which countries will receive these international bundles or when they will become available.

Peacock itself is not currently available as a standalone streaming service in many countries, including the UK. Universal+ and Hayu could therefore provide an alternative way for YouTube to offer NBCUniversal programming internationally.

YouTube is turning Premium into a wider entertainment bundle

The addition of Peacock represents a significant change in how YouTube positions its Premium membership.

Until now, the service has primarily focused on removing adverts from YouTube, providing YouTube Music and adding features such as background playback and downloads. The Peacock deal introduces a substantial catalogue of traditional television, movies and professional sports.

It also follows a wider streaming trend in which companies bundle competing or complementary services together to reduce cancellations and offer subscribers better value.

For YouTube, the partnership could help justify the cost of Premium and make the subscription more competitive with entertainment bundles offered by companies such as Amazon, Apple and Disney.

For Peacock, the agreement immediately places the service in front of millions of existing YouTube Premium members. NBCUniversal described the deal as Peacock’s largest wholesale distribution partnership to date.

What YouTube Premium subscribers need to know

Peacock Premium is scheduled to become available to eligible US YouTube Premium subscribers in early 2027.

The ad-supported Peacock plan will be included as part of the subscription, while customers are expected to have the option to pay for an upgraded Peacock membership.

YouTube and NBCUniversal have not yet provided a precise launch date or explained exactly how account activation will work. Those details are expected to be announced before the bundle becomes available.

For subscribers who watch YouTube regularly but also pay separately for films, television and live sports, the addition of Peacock could make YouTube Premium a considerably more valuable entertainment subscription.
