One of independent music’s most distinctive record labels is turning 30 — and celebrating with its own festival.

Stones Throw 30 takes place in Los Angeles from 16–18 October 2026, bringing together artists from across the label’s history.

Who is playing Stones Throw 30?

Friday features Automatic, Los Retros, N8NOFACE and Josh da Costa alongside special guest Sudan Archives.

Saturday moves deeper into Stones Throw history.

Founder Peanut Butter Wolf performs alongside Dâm-FunK, J Rocc, a Tuxedo DJ set from Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One, and Wildchild & DJ Romes performing Lootpack’s Soundpieces: Da Antidote!.

Special guests include Aloe Blacc and Eric André.

Sunday features Mild High Club, John Carroll Kirby, Egyptian Lover, Gary Wilson, Jerry Paper, Maylee Todd and others, with Kyle Mooney appearing as a special guest.

J Rocc celebrates 20 years of Donuts

One particularly interesting booking is J Rocc’s Donuts 20th anniversary DJ set.

J Dilla’s Donuts is one of the most celebrated albums associated with Stones Throw, giving the performance an obvious connection to the label’s history.

When is Stones Throw 30?

Stones Throw 30 takes place from 16–18 October 2026 in Highland Park, Los Angeles, next to the label’s longtime headquarters.

Rather than simply celebrating with another compilation or anniversary release, Stones Throw is effectively turning three decades of independent music into a live festival.
