How to Add Groovy to Discord
If you are searching for how to add Groovy to Discord, unfortunately, the original Groovy music bot is no longer available.
Groovy was a popular Discord bot that allowed users to play music inside voice channels. However, the service officially closed after receiving a legal notice and stopped operating on 30 August 2021. This means you can no longer invite or add the official Groovy bot to a Discord server.
Can You Still Add Groovy Bot to Discord?
No. Any website claiming to offer the original Groovy bot should be treated carefully. The official Groovy website confirms that the service has ended and that its source code was not released publicly.
How to Add a Groovy Alternative to Discord
You can find another music bot through Discord’s App Directory:
- Open your Discord server.
- Click the server name in the top-left corner.
- Select Server Settings.
- Open the App Directory.
- Search for a music app.
- Select the app and click Add App.
- Review the requested permissions and complete the installation.
You must own the server or have the Manage Server permission to add most apps.
Once installed, many Discord music apps can be controlled using slash commands. Type / inside a text channel to view the commands available for your chosen app.
Although it is no longer possible to add Groovy to Discord, the Discord App Directory contains alternative music and entertainment apps that can provide similar features.
