Inspired by the yin-yang philosophy embedded within Korean culture, PrettyNabi embraces the idea that light and darkness are complementary parts of a whole. The project explores contrasting sounds and emotions side by side, moving floidly from the bright, knetc energy of the hyperpop/K-jersey club track “real2feel” to introspective and explosively cathartic shoegaze-inspired “wonder.”
PrettyNabi is glumroll’s debut EP, a five-track exploration of balance, transformation, and duality. Inspired by the yin-yang philosophy embedded within Korean culture, the project embraces the idea that light and darkness are not opposing forces, but complementary parts of a whole.
Its title draws from the Korean word nabi (butterfly), a symbol of transformation and becoming. Across the EP’s five tracks, glumroll explores different points along the spectrum between yin and yang, allowing contrasting sounds and emotions to exist side by side. The hyperpop/K-jersey club “real2feel” embodies the EP’s brighter, more kinetic energy, while the shoegaze-inspired “wonder” drifts toward introspection before erupting into a cathartic finale.
Moving fluidly between electronic experimentation, dreamlike atmospheres, and moments of explosive release, PrettyNabi reflects glumroll’s belief that wholeness is found not in choosing between opposites, but in embracing both.

Glumroll is a Seoul-based artist, producer, and songwriter whose music drifts between the natural and the synthetic. Drawing from hyperpop, shoegaze, ambient electronics, and alternative pop, she crafts immersive sonic worlds shaped by nostalgia, dreams, and cultural memory. Influenced by her Korean heritage and a life lived across multiple countries, her work balances experimentation with emotional intimacy, creating songs that feel both futuristic and deeply human.
