‘Spaceship to Mars’ is a new single from charms, the songwriting project of Singapore’s Charlene Teo. It is an upbeat alternative pop song about wanting to leave where you are, sung in English.

The chorus keeps coming back to ‘Won’t you take me away’. Christopher Ahn and Chong Jen-Shin produced it, Pau Sian Lian plays guitar and Chong Jen-Shin sings the backing vocals. The title grew from looking up at a wide sky from the beach.

A beach, a wide sky and one wish: take me away.

Charlene Teo writes and composes everything for charms. The 2025 single ‘so far from you’ was followed in 2026 by the single ‘time’ and the EP ‘Honestly, maybe nevermind’. This year charms also played the Esplanade Concourse in Singapore and the AMP First Showcase at *SCAPE.

Save it for a drive along the coast, or any day you want to be somewhere else. Fans of Yaretzi, sua or beartheknee should give it a listen.
