Amazon has launched its new generative AI-powered Alexa+ assistant in India, adding support for Hindi, Hinglish and English and significantly expanding what users can do with Alexa.

Alexa+ is available in Early Access in India from September 16, 2026, bringing more natural conversations, improved context awareness, personalised recommendations and the ability to complete more complicated tasks.

For music listeners, one of the most interesting changes is the deeper integration with services including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and JioSaavn.

Amazon says Alexa+ is designed to understand the way people actually speak rather than requiring users to memorise specific voice commands.

What is Alexa+?

Alexa+ is Amazon’s next-generation version of Alexa.
