Afro Nation Portugal 2027 Lineup: Davido, Rema, Fally Ipupa and More
Afro Nation Portugal has revealed the first wave of artists for its 2027 edition, with Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa confirmed as the main headliners.
The festival returns to Praia da Rocha in Portimão from 9–11 June 2027.
The programme celebrates Afrobeats, amapiano, dancehall and other sounds from across Africa and the wider diaspora.
More than 30 artists have already been announced, with additional performers expected before the festival.
Who is playing Afro Nation Portugal 2027?
Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa lead the main LIT Stage programme.
Other major artists include Omah Lay, Odeal, Shenseea, Victony, Rayvanny, Valiant and GIMS.
The amapiano-focused Piano People stage features Kabza De Small, TxC, Dlala Thukzin, Young Stunna and Zee Nxumalo.
The Afrotronic programme includes Caiiro, Djeff, Jamiie, Aniko and JNR SA.
The lineup brings together some of the biggest contemporary artists from Nigeria, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jamaica and other countries.
Davido returns to Afro Nation
Davido is one of the biggest names on the poster.
The Nigerian artist has helped establish Afrobeats as a major international musical force.
His catalogue includes Fall, If, Unavailable and Feel.
Through collaborations with other global artists, Davido has introduced Nigerian pop music to an increasingly international audience.
His return to Afro Nation gives the festival another major headline performer with a substantial catalogue of familiar songs.
Rema brings global Afrobeats success
Rema provides another major attraction.
The Nigerian singer achieved enormous international success with Calm Down, particularly following its remix featuring Selena Gomez.
His music combines Afrobeats with pop, trap and electronic influences.
Rema previously headlined Afro Nation Portugal in 2024 and returns for the 2027 edition.
His continued popularity across international music markets makes him one of the festival’s strongest search drivers.
Fally Ipupa represents Congolese music
Fally Ipupa brings a different musical tradition to the lineup.
The Congolese singer has enjoyed a long and successful career, combining rumba, soukous and contemporary African pop.
His presence gives Afro Nation a connection to Central African music alongside the Nigerian and South African artists dominating much of the wider programme.
Amapiano has its own stage
One of Afro Nation’s defining features is its substantial amapiano programme.
Kabza De Small, TxC, Dlala Thukzin and Young Stunna represent different parts of South Africa’s influential electronic music scene.
Amapiano has expanded internationally in recent years, with its distinctive rhythms, piano melodies and basslines influencing artists well beyond South Africa.
The dedicated stage allows fans to experience a deeper selection of amapiano artists rather than simply hearing the genre represented by one or two performers.
