‘Overload’ is the double-title cypher from Round 1 of Super Rookie Challenge’s first Vocal Season. Seven vocalists – blushii, CHOIJIJI, Paper Cup, YUL2, KEVIN PARK, Xinssy and Minjeong – trade verses on a single track.

NiNE (Choi Su-jong) and IBAN produced the R&B beat underneath. The hook sits on ‘Your love is like overload / Yeah, I just might overdrive tonight’, and each voice takes its turn before handing the line on.

Your love is like overload – seven voices, one hook.

Super Rookie Challenge has run as a Korean launchpad since 2013. punchnello, Cho Kwangil, Don Mills, YUNHWAY, SINCE, OVAN, ZENE THE ZILLA and EK have all come through it. Nino of Black Soul is executive producer, and Sherpa Music runs the project as PM.

After a run of hip-hop seasons, this is the first round built around singers. The cypher was released as a live preview of the Vocal Season 1 opening night at Prism Hall Hapjeong, and it suits late-night drives and anyone who likes hearing several voices share one hook.
