Joyland Sessions returns to Jakarta on 28 and 29 November 2026 with an international lineup led by Caribou and Slowdive.

The festival takes place at GBK Senayan, bringing together electronic music, dream pop, shoegaze, experimental music and Indonesian independent artists.

The confirmed programme also includes Ichiko Aoba, DOMi & JD BECK and Fazerdaze.

Who is playing Joyland Sessions 2026?

Caribou and Slowdive are among the largest international names.

They’re joined by Ichiko Aoba, DOMi & JD BECK, Fazerdaze, Motorama, Chanpan and Japanese group CHO CO PA CO CHO CO QUIN QUIN.

The Indonesian lineup includes Efek Rumah Kaca, Mondo Gascaro, Float, Alkateri, Asken, Falaci, Littlefingers, Strange Fruit, Sunlotus and Matter Halo.

That creates a festival lineup with a very different identity from mainstream pop and EDM events.

Caribou headlines Joyland Sessions

Canadian electronic artist Caribou is one of the festival’s biggest draws.

The project, led by Dan Snaith, has built an international following through its mixture of electronic production, psychedelic sounds and live instrumentation.

Caribou is scheduled to perform on Sunday 29 November.

For electronic music fans, the booking provides an opportunity to experience a live act whose music crosses the boundaries between club music and alternative pop.

Slowdive bring shoegaze to Jakarta

Slowdive are another particularly interesting booking.

The British group helped establish shoegaze during the early 1990s and have since developed a substantial new generation of fans.

Their music combines layered guitars, atmospheric vocals and dreamy production.

Slowdive are listed for Saturday 28 November, giving the festival a major alternative rock booking alongside Caribou’s electronic performance.

Japanese and Indonesian artists add depth

Joyland’s wider lineup is particularly exciting for music discovery.

Japanese singer-songwriter Ichiko Aoba brings her distinctive approach to folk and experimental music.

CHO CO PA CO CHO CO QUIN QUIN add another Japanese act with a different musical direction.

Meanwhile, Efek Rumah Kaca and Mondo Gascaro represent Indonesia’s own independent music scene.

Rather than simply bringing international artists to Jakarta, Joyland creates a programme where Indonesian musicians appear alongside performers from Japan, Europe, North America and New Zealand.
