The song playing in the October 2026 Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer is “Flower in a Hurricane” by Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard.

It’s a new recording created for the game’s musical world, rather than an older song selected from a radio station.

Rockstar released the launch trailer on 15 October 2026, ahead of GTA 6’s scheduled release on 19 November.

The music announcement also revealed something significant: French electronic duo Justice composed the game’s original score.

That makes the song more than a promotional track. It introduces listeners to the sound of one of 2026’s biggest video-game releases.

Justice are the principal artists.

The French duo consists of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, who became internationally famous through their distinctive combination of electronic dance music and rock influences.

Their recordings frequently use distorted synthesizers, powerful basslines and dramatic arrangements.

“Flower in a Hurricane” brings together an unusually broad group of collaborators.

Tame Impala is the recording project of Australian musician Kevin Parker.

SZA is an American singer known for contemporary R&B and emotionally detailed songwriting.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard are an Australian band whose music ranges from psychedelic rock to heavy metal and electronic experimentation.

The combination is unexpected, but it makes musical sense.

All four acts have experience moving between genres.

Because their sound is suited to an enormous, stylised open-world game.

Justice frequently combine electronic rhythm with the physical energy of rock music.

That creates recordings which feel powerful and cinematic.

GTA 6 returns players to Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida, a world inspired by contemporary Florida.

The game’s trailers suggest a setting filled with nightlife, bright colours, cars and criminal activity.

Justice’s music can communicate that atmosphere without sounding like a conventional film score.

Their work often feels electronic and aggressive simultaneously.

That’s a useful musical identity for a game involving constant changes between exploration, driving and dramatic story sequences.

They composed the game’s original score.

That’s different from creating every song heard on the radio.

GTA games generally contain two important kinds of music.

The original score accompanies gameplay, dramatic sequences and changing situations.

Radio stations play recordings from a wide range of artists.

Rockstar has confirmed that Justice created an adaptive score, meaning the music changes according to what’s happening in the game.

The separate score album is scheduled for 11 December 2026 and contains thirty tracks.

Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is a different 34-track collection scheduled for 19 November.

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album contains newly created songs associated with the game.

Its announced contributors include Travis Scott, Yung Lean, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Keith Richards and others.

The original score album focuses on Justice’s instrumental and collaborative compositions for the game itself.

“Flower in a Hurricane” is an unusual crossover because it appears in the launch trailer and has been confirmed for both soundtrack releases.

That makes it one of the recordings most closely connected with GTA 6’s musical identity before the game even launches.

“Love Is a Long Road” by Tom Petty.

Rockstar used it in the first trailer, released in December 2023.

The recording originally appeared on Petty’s 1989 album Full Moon Fever.

Its guitar-driven sound created a nostalgic atmosphere around the game’s modern Florida setting.

The placement also introduced the older recording to younger listeners.

That became a familiar pattern: Rockstar uses a distinctive song, the trailer becomes enormously popular, and people begin searching for the original artist.

“Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters.

The song was released in 1986 and featured prominently in Rockstar’s second trailer on 6 May 2025.

The video also contained brief excerpts of other recordings, including Wang Chung’s “Everybody Have Fun Tonight”.

“Hot Together” experienced a substantial increase in listening activity after the trailer appeared.

It was another example of an older recording finding a new audience through a major game.

The two earlier trailers therefore took a different musical approach from the October 2026 launch video, which introduces newly created music.

Because it combines several musical traditions.

Justice bring powerful electronic production.

Tame Impala introduces psychedelic-pop influences.

SZA contributes a different vocal sensibility.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard add another connection with experimental rock.

That makes the song particularly suitable for a game combining many different environments and styles of storytelling.

Rather than sounding like a straightforward electronic club track, it has the scale of a major cinematic collaboration.

Rockstar has already revealed several radio stations.

They include Cocoteo FM, AfroBank FM, Back Country Radio, The Chamber, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics.

Their presenters include artists such as Bad Bunny, Burna Boy, Robyn, Lana Del Rey and members of Slayer.

That gives players an unusually broad range of music to explore.
