ADÉLA’s “Ain’t in LA” is about believing that talent, beauty and ambition exist everywhere, not just in famous entertainment cities.

The song challenges the idea that somebody needs to live in Los Angeles to matter.

But its inspiration is much more personal than a conventional anti-Hollywood pop song.

ADÉLA wrote it after discovering an old photograph of her mother as a teenager in Slovakia.

Her mother had dreams of becoming famous, too.

Those dreams never developed into the international career she imagined.

ADÉLA began thinking about how many talented people never receive the opportunities they deserve simply because of where they were born.

That became the emotional foundation of “Ain’t in LA”.

Greatness doesn’t only exist in famous places.

Los Angeles has become closely associated with entertainment, beauty, celebrity and success.

For aspiring musicians, actors and performers, moving there can seem like an essential step.

ADÉLA challenges that assumption.

Her song celebrates people who remain outside those glamorous environments.

People with talent.

Ambition.

And dreams that may never receive international attention.

The title suggests that some of the most remarkable people in the world aren’t necessarily living in Los Angeles.

They might be somewhere that the entertainment industry rarely notices.

ADÉLA Jergová is a Slovak singer and performer.

She initially attracted international attention through Dream Academy, the competition associated with the creation of KATSEYE.

She didn’t become a member of the final group.

Instead, she developed a solo career.

Her music combines theatrical pop performance with electronic production and contemporary dance influences.

Her debut album PRIMA was released in September 2026.

“Ain’t in LA” became one of the defining recordings of that project.

ADÉLA returned to her family home in Bratislava and discovered photographs of her mother as a teenager.

One image particularly affected her.

Her mother was surrounded by posters of international pop stars.

Those posters had been brought into the country by ADÉLA’s grandfather.

They represented a world that felt distant from ordinary life in Slovakia.

ADÉLA recognised something of herself in the photograph.

Her mother had been young, ambitious and fascinated by celebrity culture.

But she hadn’t experienced the opportunities available to somebody growing up inside a major entertainment centre.

That contrast inspired the song.

Partly.

ADÉLA has explained that her mother was the original emotional inspiration.

But the message extends further.

The photograph made her consider people around the world whose ambitions remain unfulfilled.

Some never have the money to travel.

Others lack industry connections.

Some simply aren’t born in places where international entertainment companies are looking for talent.

The song celebrates those people.

ADÉLA has described wanting to recognise individuals whose abilities may never receive the attention they deserve.

Because ADÉLA recorded the song in Los Angeles.

She acknowledged that contradiction in an October 2026 interview with Billboard.

It’s a funny detail.

A recording challenging the glamour surrounding LA was created inside LA itself.

But that doesn’t undermine the song’s message.

ADÉLA isn’t arguing that Los Angeles contains no talented people.

She’s arguing that talent exists far beyond it.

The place where a recording is made doesn’t determine where its inspiration comes from.

ADÉLA developed the song with collaborators including Theron Thomas, Blake Slatkin, Dylan Brady and Billy Walsh.

The idea emerged during a studio session after she had been thinking about her mother’s photograph.

According to ADÉLA, the song came together relatively naturally after the group began exploring the concept.

That makes it an interesting example of personal inspiration becoming mainstream pop.

The original idea was emotional and reflective.

The finished recording is energetic and confident.

The message survived the transformation.

Electronic pop.

Dance-pop.

Contemporary alternative pop.

The production contains strong rhythmic elements, processed vocals and influences from early-2010s pop.

ADÉLA has specifically discussed being inspired by Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz era.

There are also connections with hip-hop production from that period.

The song combines nostalgic musical influences with modern electronic effects.

That mixture helps distinguish it from more conventional radio-pop recordings.

Because that was intentional.

ADÉLA has spoken about enjoying music from the early 2010s.

The production team discussed creating something with the emotional and rhythmic character of that period.

The opening vocal treatment was partly influenced by the style of Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop”.

Theron Thomas was involved in writing that earlier recording.

That gives the influence a direct creative connection.

Rather than simply copying an old trend, the team brought some of its production vocabulary into a new song.

The video was filmed in Bratislava.

That choice reinforces the song’s message.

Rather than using the glamorous streets of Los Angeles, ADÉLA returned to her home city.

The visual presentation celebrates her background while maintaining her theatrical pop identity.

It’s a useful contrast.

The production is polished and international.

The location is personally significant.

Together they suggest that becoming a successful pop performer doesn’t require abandoning the place you came from.

The recording has become one of ADÉLA’s major commercial breakthroughs.

It reached the Billboard Hot 100 and developed a substantial audience through social media.

It also topped the UK Official Trending Chart dated 27 October 2026.

That chart tracks songs showing particularly strong growth.

The song’s central message is well suited to social platforms.

People can use it to celebrate their hometowns, families or personal ambitions.

The title also creates immediate curiosity.

Why isn’t everything in LA?

The recording provides the answer.

Both songs explore celebrity culture.

But they approach it differently.

“Nicole Kidman” uses the famous actress as a symbol of glamour and confidence.

“Ain’t in LA” challenges the assumption that glamour and worth belong exclusively to famous people.

That creates an interesting contradiction within ADÉLA’s artistic identity.

She enjoys celebrity imagery.

But also recognises its limitations.

She’s interested in becoming a star while questioning the culture surrounding stardom.

If you enjoy the recording, try:

These songs combine different elements of electronic pop, theatrical performance and confident songwriting.

Start with PRIMA.

Released on 4 September 2026, it is ADÉLA’s debut album.

The project explores confidence, vulnerability, ambition and relationships.

Its title connects with her background in ballet.

A prima ballerina is a leading dancer.

ADÉLA uses that idea to describe her own ambition within pop music.

The album therefore provides a wider context for “Ain’t in LA”.

It’s not simply about rejecting fame.

It’s about deciding what fame should mean.

Talent exists everywhere.

ADÉLA developed the song after discovering a photograph of her mother dreaming of international success.

The recording challenges the idea that important people only exist inside famous entertainment centres.

It’s also a celebration of ambition.

ADÉLA wants to succeed.

But she doesn’t want to forget the people who never received the same opportunity.

The message is simple.

You don’t have to be in Los Angeles to be extraordinary.
