But if your main reason for buying a smart display is to listen to songs while cooking, working or relaxing, the differences are more significant than their similar designs suggest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The short answer: HomeView looks especially attractive for Apple Music subscribers who already use an iPhone, while Echo Show 11 offers a larger screen and a more established route to services including Spotify and Amazon Music. Neither device should be declared the sound-quality winner without a proper listening comparison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s what matters before you buy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple HomeView vs Echo Show 11: The main differences<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

HomeView has a seven-inch square Liquid Retina display, Apple’s A18 chip, Siri AI and a 12MP camera. The tabletop model combines two full-range drivers with a down-firing woofer and two passive radiators. It costs \u00a3299 in the UK and is scheduled to arrive on 13 November 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echo Show 11 has a substantially larger, roughly 11-inch display and uses Amazon’s Alexa ecosystem. Its speaker system includes a woofer and two full-range drivers. It has been available since 2025, so buyers can already look at real-world reviews rather than relying entirely on launch claims. The UK list price has been around \u00a3249.99, although Amazon frequently changes its offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most useful distinction isn’t the chip or camera. It’s what you can ask each device to play, and how much you need to use your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which is better for Spotify?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If Spotify is the centre of your music collection, the Echo Show 11 currently has the clearer support story. Spotify officially lists Amazon Echo Show as a supported Alexa device. Premium subscribers can link their Spotify account in the Alexa app and select Spotify as their default music service. That allows requests such as playing an artist, playlist or Discover Weekly through Alexa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple has confirmed that HomeView supports AirPlay and compatible third-party audio apps from an iPhone. That makes Spotify playback through an iPhone a promising option. However, as of October 2026, Apple hasn’t confirmed a full native Spotify experience, dedicated Spotify Connect support or equivalent Siri voice controls on HomeView.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AirPlay and Spotify Connect are different technologies. Being able to send music from an iPhone does not necessarily mean you can browse your Spotify library directly on a new device’s screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What about Apple Music and Amazon Music?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

HomeView has a built-in Music app. Apple has specifically confirmed artwork, lyrics and animated artwork, making Apple Music a central part of the experience. For anyone who regularly checks song titles, explores albums or likes following lyrics, having that information on a permanent display could be a real benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echo Show 11 supports Amazon Music through Alexa and can also play Apple Music in supported regions when the relevant service is linked. Apple publishes instructions for enabling Apple Music on Amazon’s Alexa devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That gives Echo Show 11 an appealing degree of flexibility across subscriptions. HomeView is likely to feel more cohesive within an Apple household, but full third-party app behaviour needs testing when the product ships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which sounds better?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Both devices have more ambitious audio hardware than the cheapest smart displays. The tabletop HomeView has two custom full-range drivers, a dedicated down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators. Apple also lists Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos for supported content and computational tuning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echo Show 11 uses a 2.8-inch woofer with two full-range drivers and offers room-filling sound. Reviews of the Amazon display provide useful evidence about its performance, but there isn’t yet a reliable, independent comparison with a retail HomeView.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A speaker having extra components doesn’t automatically make it sound better. Bass response depends on the enclosure, placement and tuning. Equally, Dolby Atmos support doesn’t guarantee that a compact device will reproduce the same experience as a dedicated multi-speaker system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If audio quality is the only concern, it is also worth comparing both displays with dedicated music speakers. You may get better sound per pound by giving up the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which screen works better for music?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

HomeView’s square seven-inch display is designed for glanceable information, artwork, lyrics and shared home controls. Apple says its interface changes with viewing distance, showing simpler information when you are further away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echo Show 11’s larger display has an obvious advantage for reading information at a distance, watching supported video and following recipes. If your display will sit on the far side of a large kitchen, that extra space could be valuable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the larger screen is not automatically better for music. An album-art-focused screen on a nearby counter may be all you need. Think about where you’ll place the device rather than comparing screen size in isolation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siri AI or Alexa: Which is better for discovering music?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Apple says Siri AI can answer broader conversational questions and support richer music discovery. With a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, it can also use relevant personal context. That sounds particularly interesting if you’re looking for a half-remembered song or want to explore an artist without repeatedly using your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexa offers its own established voice-driven music experience, with linked services and routines. Its practical advantage today is that music-service behaviour can already be checked on existing Echo Show hardware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple’s more ambitious Siri claims need real-world testing, especially with services other than Apple Music. Buyers should also note that some personalised Siri features require a compatible Apple device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What about other speakers around the house?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

HomeView supports multiroom audio using AirPlay. Apple’s published examples include HomePod, Apple TV 4K and other compatible speakers. This could appeal to households already using AirPlay equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echo Show 11 can participate in Alexa-compatible multiroom audio arrangements. It is an easier fit when your home already uses Echo speakers and Alexa music groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The important question is which speakers you already own. Switching ecosystems for one display can create a more complicated household audio setup than necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
