His passion ignited after listening to the compilation album &#8220;Blue Note 100,&#8221; with Bill Evans and Jim Hall&#8217;s &#8220;Undercurrent&#8221; serving as a catalyst for his deep dive into the world of jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-0e9a807168ca0da5a14f9d6c960f7bf9\">Following his discharge in 2009, Kim attended the Montreux Jazz Festival, where he was profoundly inspired by the solo piano competition and performances of various artists. This experience solidified his resolve to become a jazz pianist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b9ee60ba07615139cf88f73f40f2e678\">Despite facing setbacks, including an unsuccessful audition for Seoul Institute of the Arts in 2010, Kim&#8217;s determination never wavered. While briefly returning to a non-music-related university, a transformative moment came in 2011 when he witnessed Joe Sample&#8217;s performance in New York, reigniting his passion for jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-944c079a67f45b25b9b6a9adf634b19a\">In 2013, Kim successfully enrolled in Seoul Institute of the Arts. He broadened his jazz horizons by participating in the Sacheon International Jazz Workshop in 2013 and 2014.
