Giving it a permanent button makes AI discovery much easier to access and suggests Google wants it to become a core part of the YouTube Music experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p Music&#8217;s catalogue now contains more than 300 million songs, including official studio recordings alongside remixes, live performances, covers and DJ sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That makes its catalogue considerably broader than a traditional streaming catalogue consisting primarily of officially distributed recordings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If someone asks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Find me live versions of 1990s alternative rock songs&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">or:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Give me electronic remixes of popular songs from the 2000s&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">YouTube potentially has a huge amount of material available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI could make that enormous catalogue much easier to navigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI could solve music streaming&#8217;s discovery problem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Streaming services have historically relied heavily on recommendation algorithms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spotify has Discover Weekly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple Music has personalised stations and recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">YouTube Music has mixes and recommendations built around users&#8217; listening behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But AI introduces something different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of the streaming service trying to predict what you want, you can simply tell it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
