A brand-new music festival is coming to Australia’s Gold Coast in 2027.

Sound Collective launches at Broadwater Parklands on Saturday 20 February 2027, bringing together reggae, roots, soul, R&B, hip-hop and Pacific music.

Who is playing Sound Collective 2027?

The inaugural lineup is led by Hawaiian reggae and soul artist Maoli.

He’s joined by New Zealand star Stan Walker and Māori roots-reggae favourites Katchafire.

Grammy-winning hip-hop group Arrested Development are also appearing alongside American reggae band SOJA, New Zealand R&B trio A.R.T., Bradamon Band and RIAH.

A further local artist will join the programme through a competition.

A new Australian festival enters the market

The Australian festival market has had a difficult few years, which makes the arrival of a completely new festival particularly interesting.

Rather than trying to become another generic multi-genre event, Sound Collective has a very clear identity.

Reggae, roots, soul and Polynesian-influenced music sit at the centre.

That gives it a defined audience from day one.

When is Sound Collective 2027?
