The yips is the name for what happens when a player who has made a throw a thousand times suddenly cannot. inaekkum built a song on that, likening the moment pressure separates mind from body to a costly error on a baseball field, and offering it to anyone who has fallen short of something they wanted.

Musically it holds two things at once: the swagger of early-2000s indie rock and the pull of pop. It is also the first song the band has written with Kim Taeyang and Min Wooseok composing together, with Min on lyrics, vocals and bass, and Kim on electric guitar. That split credit shows in a track that keeps its hooks while staying rough at the edges.

A baseball error borrowed to describe the moment the body stops answering the mind.

The four-piece formed in Daegu in 2020 and have moved quickly since. Their debut album ‘Organic Tender’ took the grand prize at TBC’s D-Rookie Festa in 2025, a Taiwan tour followed, and in spring 2026 they played official showcases at the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival in Belfast and Liverpool Sound City before touring the United Kingdom and Sweden. BBC Radio Merseyside featured them on BBC Music Introducing during that run.

‘Yips’ is the pre-release single from their second album ‘MY’, due in March 2027, which makes it an early look rather than a summary. Released through headindieclouds. Start here if Korean indie rock with a passport interests you.
