About the Release
“Season 17 Round 1 Cypher” is built on a powerful duality. “Gossip” brings together 10 MCs — DICTO, Klama, Artifex, Poeta, JIJI, X33D, Youngchan Song, CHLALSDUD, Taeyoung, and Jegal Jin — who trade razor-sharp punchlines and competitive fire, each one staking their claim with relentless energy. It’s a track that doesn’t ask for attention — it demands it.
On the flip side, “Be Me” features 6 artists — HRDN, DIGI, JSN .Paak, M’ewn, Haus, and Ruud — who turn the lens inward. Rather than battling outward, they declare their individuality, refusing to bend to expectation. Where “Gossip” is a fist raised, “Be Me” is a flag planted. Together, the two tracks complete the full spectrum of what a cypher can be: aggression and reflection, proving that this new generation has both the hunger and the depth to carry the torch.
Produced by NiNE (Choi Sujong, Tak Hayun), mixed and mastered by Hambro, with visuals directed by CAKEFiLM, the project carries the signature grit and polish that Super Rookie Challenge is known for.

About Super Rookie Challenge
Since 2013, Super Rookie Challenge has been the definitive gateway into Korea’s hip-hop scene. What began as a talent discovery project has grown into a legacy — launching the careers of artists who now define the genre: punchnello, Don Mills, ZENE THE ZILLA, YUNHWAY, SINCE, Oban, Jo Gwangil, and EK, among many others.
The project’s mission has remained unchanged: find the hungriest, most talented emerging voices in Korean hip-hop and R&B, then give them the platform to prove themselves. Each season is a proving ground — a crucible where raw talent meets real competition. The artists who emerge from Super Rookie Challenge don’t just debut; they arrive.
Under the executive production of Nino of Black Soul and project management by Choi Jaeheui of Sherpa Music, Season 17 promises to uphold the tradition of excellence while pushing the boundaries of what a hip-hop showcase can be. With 16 fearless new voices stepping up, the generational shift is not coming — it’s already here.
