The new tier offers all of Spotify&#8217;s music and podcasts to listen to ad-free but doesn&#8217;t come with 15 hours of audiobook listens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Spotify began adding <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-premium-can-now-listen-to-audiobooks-no-extra-cost\/\">15 hours of free audiobook listening for Premium subscribers<\/a> around the world. It came alongside price rises, which were <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-hikes-prices-for-the-second-time-in-a-year\/\">then doubled with another recent price rise<\/a> &#8211; raising the cost of Premium  Individual to \u00a311.99\/$11.99.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, Spotify are offering Basic Individual to customers for just \u00a310.99 a month. At present, the new offering is only available to UK customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-routenote-blog wp-block-embed-routenote-blog\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"fHhVo4tQjl\"><a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-premium-can-now-listen-to-audiobooks-no-extra-cost\/\">Spotify Premium users can now listen to 150,000+ audiobooks at no extra cost &#8211; but there&#8217;s a catch<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Spotify Premium users can now listen to 150,000+ audiobooks at no extra cost &#8211; but there&#8217;s a catch&#8221; &#8212; RouteNote Blog\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-premium-can-now-listen-to-audiobooks-no-extra-cost\/embed\/#?secret=fHhVo4tQjl\" data-secret=\"fHhVo4tQjl\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, Spotify&#8217;s other subscription offerings seem unaffected. Both Spotify Family and Duo come with free audiobook listening, however only the plan&#8217;s manager has access to the 15 hours. There doesn&#8217;t seem to be any plans for a discounted bundle plan that removes audiobook listens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spotify have recently <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/are-audiobooks-earning-artists-less\/\">come under fire in the US over audiobook bundling<\/a>. In adding audiobooks to their music streaming plan, they qualify for a discounted bundle rate in payments to publishers and songwriters.
