{"id":99352,"date":"2024-04-17T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-17T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/?p=99352"},"modified":"2024-04-17T11:58:28","modified_gmt":"2024-04-17T10:58:28","slug":"youtube-launch-exclusive-paid-shorts-content","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/youtube-launch-exclusive-paid-shorts-content\/","title":{"rendered":"YouTube launch exclusive, paid Shorts content"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 style=\"user-select: auto;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff; user-select: auto;\">YouTube Shorts are getting a little more exclusive as YouTube introduces Members Only content for paying fans.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube are celebrating <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.youtube\/inside-youtube\/shorts-revenue-sharing-update\/\">one year of sharing Shorts revenues with their creators<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/using-youtube-shorts-as-an-artist\/\">Shorts<\/a> now average over 70 billion daily views and offers many creators a fresh source of engagement and revenue after YouTube stepped into the short-form video format in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now they&#8217;re looking to provide creators with more ways to make money from their Shorts content. <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/what-is-youtube-content-id\/\">YouTube<\/a> have launched Members Only Shorts, exclusive content that fans can view via channel subscriptions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creators can now select &#8220;Members Only&#8221; whilst uploading their Shorts. This will make it available exclusively to fans subscribed to your channel, offering an incentive to subscribers and giving creators a new way to connect with their biggest fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NEW: Members only Shorts\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CxMsPSlV9wY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Viewers will be able to distinguish Members Only Shorts by a star icon on the thumbnail. Members Only Shorts will appear in subscriber&#8217;s Subscription feeds as well as in their Shorts feed and in the Membership tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube write: &#8220;[Members Only Shorts] lets you take advantage of your already-planned content, and can be especially beneficial for your members if your Short features a special announcement product drop, or limited-time deal. Try using members-only Shorts for Q&amp;As behind-the-scenes looks, or clips of upcoming content.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 25% of creators on the YouTube Partner Programme (YPP) now earn revenues from Shorts content. On top of that, more than 80% of those who met YPP eligibility via the Shorts thresholds are earning revenues with other monetization options like Premium and fan funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The impact of Shorts has grown so much that it has become a primary revenue source for some creators. Creator Sydney Morgan writes: &#8220;I didn&#8217;t know what to expect with Shorts revenue share but I am very comfortably making a living off that revenue alone full time unlike any other platform.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.routenote.com\"><strong>Artists can add their music to the YouTube Shorts library for use in creators&#8217; Shorts content.
